I just talked to Animal Control about the raccoons, and they weren't a huge amount of help. Most of her suggestions are useless, because these raccoons have been urbanized so much. she said "you could try leaving a radio on outside, and they might think someone is around..which could scare them away." Well, I think if we're sitting right on the patio talking, and they walk towards us...they aren't too afraid of humans. She also said we should try coyote urine. Sprinkle it on the driveway and around the trash. Yikes.
